Ah, procrastination. That old friend that isn’t actually our friend, just masquerades as our friend and then leaves us stranded, without help, floundering before a deadline.
For the vast majority of us, procrastination infiltrates pretty much every aspect of our lives, from work to school to personal. When it comes to work or school, those deadlines will eventually have to be met. But when it comes to our personal lives… well we tend to put those things off almost indefinitely sometimes.
One day we wake up and suddenly realize we have a pile of things that have been on our to-do list for almost years. No more! Here are the most important things you’ve been putting off but really need to do now.
Well, as soon as you’re done reading this post, at least.
Clean out Your Closet
Even if you have done so fairly recently, cleaning out your closet can still be a valuable exercise. We tend to accumulate more things than we realize. Go through your drawers and hangers to see what you haven’t worn in the last few months.
If you’re feeling really motivated, comb through your whole house and gather together extra clutter. Then donate everything that is still in good condition.
Of particular importance (because most people probably forget about this part) are your socks. You know, the ones that you’ve been holding onto due to your false hope that the matching sock will one day appear again. Or the ones that have holes in the toes that you made a rule to only wear at home alone but have inevitably worn out pretty much everywhere. Just throw them out. The pair will never be reunited. The holes are just gross. And socks aren’t that expensive.
